During Key Stage 3, we expose students to a considerable amount of practical work. They have first hand experience of observing living cells, tissues, organs and organisms, using microscopes. They understand the structure and function of internal organs by dissecting organs like sheep’s heart, lungs, kidneys, eyes etc. Students learn to classify living things into different groups by studying preserved specimens. They also carry out experiments to investigate various living processes from photosynthesis to osmosis and from enzymatic digestion to biochemical food tests.
Finally, they correlate their knowledge to analyse and understand living things at organism and community level.
